Sainz satisfied with second place: 'I was still a bit rusty'
During qualifying in Australia, it was exciting for a long time who would finish in first place. In the end, Max Verstappen was the fastest. Despite an operation on his appendix, Carlos Sainz was able to fight for pole position.
In both the first and second qualifying, Carlos Sainz was the fastest. In the third qualifying session, which is what ultimately matters, the Spaniard came up just a bit short. Nevertheless, Sainz is very happy with his performance. ''Yeah, it's been a tough couple of weeks, a lot of days in bed. I've been waiting for this moment to see if I could be here today and make it to this weekend.''
Sainz satisfied
He is amazed at his own ability so soon after his surgery. ''I'm very happy to be here and very happy to chat with the Red Bulls this weekend. I was a bit rusty at the beginning of yesterday, but then I got up to speed and could finally find the pace and feel good with the car,'' the Spaniard said after qualifying.
