It is a question currently gripping the
Formula 1 world: where will
Adrian Newey go after leaving
Red Bull Racing? The designer is mostly associated with a move to
Ferrari, but team boss
Frederic Vasseur keeps his mouth tightly shut when asked about it.
What could Newey do for Ferrari?
Ferrari seems to be the main candidate to acquire Newey, but
Williams, Aston Martin, Mercedes and
McLaren are also mentioned. The only one who can clarify where Newey will go after 2024 is the designer himself, but
F1 team bosses are also being asked their view on the issue.
So too is Vasseur, who is no slouch when asked in Miami what Newey could 'theoretically' bring to his team. "Theoretically, yes ok. Theoretically, I have no comment on this because I know that you will be able to write pages on the two words that I could say," laughs the 55-year-old Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Williams makes no secret of also being interested in a return of Newey, who designed championship-winning cars for the British team in the past. Team boss
James Vowles openly admitted that talks are taking place with the designer, who was spotted talking to McLaren CEO
Zak Brown just this weekend.
