Lewis Hamilton is producing a Formula One movie together with Brad Pitt about the fictional Apex F1 team. Taking on the Hot Ones challenge on the First We Feed YouTube channel, Hamilton talked about filming, what makes him exciting about the technical advances he can now use to make the film imitate life better.

"Racing movies, I feel like it's very, very hard to capture them. I mean, I've done [it a lot]. Each year, you have to do filming with, like following a truck that has a camera on the back, so it's hard to capture the speed," Hamilton began to explain his experience in filming during media days.

"You can't have a truck following filming us at 200 miles an hour. So it's all kind of faked at a slower speed, and they speed it up. If you go back to, like Steve McQueen, for example, back then, they would have men laying on front of the car with the camera, like, or, they'd have a big camera on top of the helmet," Hamilton added.

Hamilton believes now, the movie he is producing can bring the viewers' experience to a new level. "But this is all real time, real speed. Now we've got all this amazing new technology, so I feel like, Joe [Kosinski]'s honestly, I think he's going to blow people away," the seven-time world champion assured the fans and has faith in his director.

The film is yet to receive the oringinal title according to IMDb, where it is referred to as 'Untitled Formula One Movie'. Previously, there were reports that the cost of Hamilton and Pitt's move rose drastically because of last year's Hollywood strike, and it could play out to be one of the most expensive movies ever. As a result, they had to scrap many of the already recorded footage.

The crew is yet to film on track this Formula One season. In 2023, the 'Apex F1' team were allowed to go out on track at the Hungaroring and Silverstone among other tracks in a redesigned F2 car, and they also were on the track during the formation lap at the British GP weekend.
