Theo Pourchaire can already pack his bags at Arrow McLaren. The Frenchman was filling in for that team in the IndyCar Series this season. The deal was that he would be allowed to finish the season, but he is already being replaced before the next race.

Pourchaire's short IndyCar career

Last season, Pourchaire became champion in Formula 2. Despite that, there was no seat available for him at Formula 1 teams, so he had to look further afield. After filling in for the injured David Malukas at the Long Beach race, he was allowed to continue driving for Arrow McLaren for the rest of the season.

Pourchaire initially competed in the Super Formula championship. He only took part in one race in Suzuka. After this he was offered to drive in IndyCar on behalf of Arrow McLaren.

Team boss explained the replacement

From the next race at the Laguna Seca circuit, the Frenchman will be replaced by 19-year-old Nolan Siegel. Arrow McLaren team boss Gavin Ward explained the switch between the two drivers: "I want to start by thanking Theo for the time he filled in for McLaren's #6. We have swapped quite a lot in recent weeks. Ultimately, by recruiting Nolan, we want to build for a stable future. He is a young, talented driver and already has a huge amount of experience given his still short career. We are excited about that journey we will now take together."
