It's another jam-packed weekend in Barcelona. F1, F2, F3 and Formula 1 Academy race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend. On the Saturday morning, it is time for the Formula 3 sprint race where Van Hoepen looks to have a chance of winning points.

The Formula 3 sprint race started immediately with a crash when two Trident drivers hit each other well. This resulted in a safety car. Thus, the race remained neutralised until lap eight. With ten laps to go, Boya, Dunne and Goethe were on the podium spots, and that top three remained unchanged until the end of the Sprint race.

Gabriele Mini looked set to finish the race scoreless, bringing Fornaroli closer in the standings for the Formula 3 title. Chaos then ensues on lap 18. Gabriele Mini's wheel suspension broke down after contact with Montoya causing him to crash into Sebastian Montoya at the next corner. Both drivers go into the gravel and drop out of the race. Thus, another late safety car arrived.

With three laps remaining, the cars are towed away and it remains to be seen whether the race will get a restart, which did not happen. Under the safety car, Boya won his home race. Mini still leads the standings, he is currently four points ahead of Luke Browning.
