Why Verstappen was late for press conference

Why Verstappen was 15 minutes late in Austria

27 June at 13:54

Max Verstappen turned up 15 minutes late for the press conference in Austria. However, GPblog has learned what the problem was with the late arrival in Spielberg.

It sometimes happens that a driver joins a little later for a press conference. A press event that just ran a little late, a marketing event that got a little out of hand. In short: slightly late is normal. However, only joining the press room after 16 minutes is not normal and so GPblog went to investigate.

Why was Verstappen late?

At the paddock in Spielberg, GPblog learned that Verstappen arrived late for the press conference due to a delayed flight. Verstappen was flying his own plane, along with Nico Hulkenberg, to Spielberg. However, that flight was delayed, causing Verstappen and therefore Nico Hulkenberg to get there later than expected.

Once present at the press conference, Verstappen was frequently questioned, mainly about his future at Red Bull Racing. GPblog previously reported that Verstappen will continue to drive for Red Bull Racing in 2025, and now Max himself confirmed this at the press conference.
