Esteban Ocon is in his last season at Alpine. The French racing team have decided to part ways with Ocon. The 27-year-old Frenchman will continue to race with the team until end of the season. He is positive and does not expect Alpine to be his last team.

For the second time in his career, Ocon has to rush to find a seat. In 2019, he had to clear the field at Force India (now Aston Martin) for Lance Stroll. In 2020, he returned to the grid at Renault (now Alpine), but he will have to leave there, too. Ocon is widely linked to Haas to succeed Kevin Magnussen.

Ocon makes himself heard

"I'm quite confident that I will be on the grid next year. Looking at the discussions from this weekend and the last couple of weeks, it's been going on really well. So on that side of things, it's looking good. I can't comment more at the moment, but I hope that I can comment very, very, very soon," Ocon said after the race in Austria.

"I had a bad experience in 2018, as you know. I had two contracts on the table in 2018 at the end of the year. One signed, one not signed. We stayed out and on the bench. So you never know until it's exactly done in Formula One. But yeah, it looks much more straightforward now. It will be done very soon hopefully," Ocon added.
