Isack Hadjar has won the Formula 2 main race at Silverstone. The French Red Bull junior was in some fierce battles and won the race by about one and a half seconds ahead of Zane Maloney. Jak Crawford completed the podium.

Hadjar started from pole position, but the Frenchman did not have a good start and was passed almost immediately by Victor Martins. Oliver Bearman had a stunning start too. The Briton, who was announced this weekend as a Haas Formula 1 driver in 2025, went from P5 to P2 in the first corner combination.

Incident-rich Feature Race in F2

After an exhilarating start, the first six laps were completed almost exclusively behind the safety car. First because Kimi Antonelli collided with Kush Maini and consequently crashed out. On the first restart, Joshua Dürksen ended up in the gravel trap, causing the safety car to enter the track again.

After the incidents cleared up, an exciting race followed, characterised by diverging tyre strategies. Hadjar and Martins started on soft and therefore went for new tyres early on, Franco Colapinto started on hard and used a reverse strategy.

On lap 23, Colapinto swapped his hard tyres for softs and opened the hunt for the front from P8. However, the Argentinian was stranded on P5. Hadjar eventually proved the most consistent and won the race ahead of Maloney and Crawford. Thanks to his win, Hadjar is now also the new championship leader in F2, while Paul Aron failed to score points at Silverstone.

Oliver Bearman finished in P7, while as it was aforementioned, Kimi Antonelli did not finish the Feature Race. Interestingly, Bearman and Prema were also investigated because of their use of dry ice, but an outcome of what exactly happened were not published by the stewards. The Briton also had a slow pit stop, that set him back.
