After the British GP, Eddie Jordan was very appreciative of Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. The former motorsport team boss celebrated what a great day it was for the British fans at the Silverstone circuit. After the weekend, Jordan praised Oscar Piastri for his performance on the Formula For Success podcast, despite the mistakes McLaren made over the weekend.

Jordan was initially very appreciative of Hamilton's victory. "I don't think Max [Verstappen] would have been able to overtake Lewis [Hamilton]. But it was a brilliant race. Everyone was impressed. I think it was a great day for British Formula One fans," Jordan said.

Matter of time before Piastri is one of the better drivers

Jordan has shone his light on Piastri. He expects that the 23-year-old driver wil become world champion very soon. "I do want to say a little thing about Oscar Piastri, because yet again, he suffered badly. We know in Austria about the track limits, and he suffered different situations every time. So the experience he's getting in this time, he had to do a lap basically in undrivable situations, in slick tires, and that is the most uncomfortable thing, because you need to keep the car on the track." Jordan said. The Australian is yet to pick up an F1 victory. He did manage to win a sprint race in Qatar in 2023, and this season he has stood second on the podium in both Monaco and Austria.

Nevertheless, he believes Piastri is only going to benefit from this. "I must tell you that I think he's learning a huge amount from it. He's learning from McLaren, of course, and he's learning from Lando [Norris]. Looking into my crystal ball in the future, I am absolutely certain he will be a world champion within a very short number of years. He has everything that I think a world champion should have, and he is now gaining so much experience in that team and the confidence. I've no doubt that he's going to be one of the all-time future kings of our sport," Jordan added.
