After a difficult weekend in Hungary, Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen is looking forward to the Grand Prix weekend in Belgium. The Dutchman has previously had a lot of success at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Verstappen says the team learned a lot in Hungary and he is looking forward to the upcoming weekend.

The Grand Prix weekend in Hungary did not go smoothly for the Austrian racing stable. Overall, the team seemed to lack speed against McLaren. Poor strategic choices during the race meant the Dutchman even finished behind a Mercedes.

Verstappen looks forward to the Belgian Grand Prix

In the past, Verstappen achieved several successes in Belgium. For instance, in the past two Grands Prix, he has won at the circuit in the Belgian Ardennes. Due to its location close to the Netherlands, there are also an awful lot of 'Orange Army' fans present every year. "Spa has always been my favourite track, with its fast corners and lots of opportunities for overtaking. The fans are also great and we receive a lot of support there," said Verstappen.

The three-time world champion states that the team learned a lot from the last race. He is looking forward to the Belgian Grand Prix and the summer break that follows. "Hungary was a tricky race and a weekend to forget and move forward from. We have been working as a Team to optimise our performance and get the best out of the car that we possibly can. Of course, the weather makes things a bit more unpredictable but we will see what the race brings. The Team have been working very hard and, being the last race before the summer break, we are looking forward to having a well-deserved rest and want to come back stronger; for this weekend, we will try and deliver the best result possible," said Verstappen.
