Lance Stroll brought out the first red flag during the final free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend. The Aston Martin driver experienced a crash, ending his session. An update has now been provided on the Canadian following the session.

What happened to Stroll?

During FP3, Stroll aquaplaned, leading him to spin and crash into the barrier at Raidillon. The hard hit caused his front suspension to break. The team then confirmed: "He got out of the car unaided and has been taken by the medical car to the medical centre for routine precautionary checks."

The Aston Martin driver's crash brought out a red flag, causing all the drivers to head back into their garages. Once his car had been cleared, they were still unable to return to the track due to the heavy rainfall. In the mean time though, Stroll was able to be checked. The team has provided a further update on their driver: "Lance is back in the team’s hospitality and is ok. The team will now work on repairing the damage to his AMR24 ahead of qualifying," Aston Martin confirmed.
