Max Verstappen is leading the 2024 Formula 1 world championship at the summer break. Although Lando Norris, in terms of the standings at least, is the biggest challenger, he is still 78 points behind. In Formula 2, there is also a Red Bull driver on a title hunt: Isack Hadjar. Verstappen and Red Bull team boss Christian Horner speak highly of him.

Where the Dutchman himself got no further from P4 in the top class of motorsport, Hadjar consolidated his lead in the title race by crossing the finish line first during the Formula 2 feature race at Spa-Francorchamps. The current Champion in Formula 1 believes the French-Algerian Formula 2 driver is doing well.

Verstappen and Horner on Hadjar

Asked about Hadjar, Verstappen responded to GPblog and others: "I see him here and there walking around with the team. He's driven the car a few times, and he's doing a great job. He had a bit of bad luck at the beginning of the season. That's all that you need to do, I guess, and then it's, of course, up to management to see what they do with him."

Horner explained in Belgium that there is no shortage of talent within Red Bull. "I think we've got a tremendous pool of talent. We've got experience, we've got youth. We’ve got Liam in the wings, we've got Hadjar doing a super job in F2, we've got Arvin Lindblad, who I think is a really exciting talent in F3. We've got some great talent in our squad," Horner said.
