Understanding setup issue can lead to surprise for Verstappen in Singapore

Max Verstappen had more difficult race weekends back-to-back in Italy and Azerbaijan recently. The F1 season will continue this weekend in Singapore, at the only track were Red Bull failed to win the year prior. What does the Dutchman expect from the second weekend of the current doubleheader ahead of the 'autumn break'.
Verstappen's expectations for Singapore GP
When asked about his expectations for Singapore taken into account to last year by GPblog, Verstappen began to anwer coyly. "I don't know. Let's see. Let's wait and see," said the Dutchman. "We are trying to optimise the set-up to understand what we did wrong in Baku. Of course, I don't think it will be our best circuit. But we will see. It could surprise us."
In conversation with Viaplay, Verstappen talked more about where the challenges lie for Red Bull at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. "We try to optimise the setup to understand what we did wrong here. I don't think it's going to be our best track, naturally. But we'll see. It might surprise us," said the three-time world champion.
The Singapore GP is the only one on the current calendar that Verstappen has never managed to win. He did, however, stand on the podium there twice. Teammate Sergio Perez could already manage in the Asian country once: back in 2022.
