Max Verstappen on Lambiase new role at Red Bull

Max Verstappen has praised his Red Bull Racing team after the Dutchman's race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase received a promotion. Lambiase will be known as the Austrian team's Head of Racing. Verstappen is pleased about this news and isn't concerned about GP having too much on his plate.

Earlier in the week, Red Bull confirmed a restructuring. Jonathan Wheatley will leave Red Bull Racing and move to Sauber/Audi for the highly anticipated project. His role will be split between several people at the Red Bull team.

How did Verstappen react to Lambiase's promotion?

Verstappen's race engineer will take on additional duties. Lambiase is already a busy person within the team but this high workload does not give Verstappen cause for concern moving forward. Speaking in Singapore, Verstappen was asked if he was worried about GP's work schedule. "No, it doesn't," Verstappen said in Singapore on Friday. "He already did more than just being my race engineer anyway, so I think it's well thought out and basically spreads the workload a bit. For me, that's fine," Verstappen added.

At one point, it seemed that Red Bull and Verstappen were going to be forced to continue without Lambiase on the team. Ferrari were reportedly trying to sign him to join forces with Lewis Hamilton when the seven-time World Champion arrives at the team in 2025. But that's not the case. Verstappen and Lambiase will be able to continue their relationship together at Red Bull.
