Helmut Marko has revealed that Daniel Ricciardo has been offered to remain linked with the Red Bull team. This role would not include driving in Formula 1 but would see him complete various PR activities to help promote the brand and the sport.

On Thursday, Visa Cash App RB put an end officially confirmed Liam Lawson will swap with Ricciardo at the United States Grand Prix and remain in the seat until the end of the 2024 F1 season. This seemingly ends Ricciardo's F1 career with immediate effect. The Australian posted a photo of himself walking away on Instagram when reacting to the news.

It will not be a final farewell if it is up to Red Bull. Marko, Red Bull's external adviser, has revealed Ricciardo still has an offer on the table. Speaking to Motorsport-Total, Marko confirmed the Austrian team are "interested" in continuing their collaboration with the eight-time Grand Prix winner. Marko is thinking about an ambassador role, for example. "He is, especially in the United States, one of the most popular Formula 1 drivers," he said.

Ricciardo reflects on his future

Ricciardo has not immediately accepted Red Bull's proposal. He wants to think about his future first. Marko doesn't expect Ricciardo to switch to a different racing class. Ricciardo has been linked to NASCAR on several occasions. "I don't believe that," Marko said.

"On the other hand, if he is no longer an active driver, I don't know if he would then feel like doing those PR activities," Marko concluded. In any case, Ricciardo himself has not yet revealed what he wants to do. In his farewell post on Instagram, he did not reveal anything about his future.
