With only six races left of the thrilling 2024 Formula 1 season, it’s all still to play for and there is drama still happening up and down the paddock. Here are five key stories to look out for in the rest of the season.

The Constructor Championship is still up for grabs

Unlike the 2023 season, the 2024 championship winning team is still far from known. After leading for the first part of the season, Red Bull have now lost their championship lead to McLaren. With six races to go, including three sprint races, McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari are all in close contention for the top prize.

Will Lando Norris win his first championship?

Lando Norris has had his best season yet, achieving his very first Formula 1 race win in Miami and then going on to claim two more victories. The Brit's form has put him in direction competition with World Champion Max Verstappen and the two have been closely competing all season long for the Driver Championship. Verstappen currently sits at the top with Norris only 52 points behind.

Hamilton's last races at Mercedes

It came as a shock to all fans when Lewis Hamilton announced that he would become a Ferrari driver in 2025. Having driven with Mercedes since 2013 and winning six Driver Championships there, Hamilton's move to Ferrari will be a massive change for fans at staff alike at Mercedes. Will Hamilton's final races at the team be met with winning celebrations or despair?

Seats still left to fill for 2025

There have been driver line-up announcements up and down the paddock throughout the 2024 season. Now with six races to go, two seats still remain unsigned for 2025, one for RB and the other at Sauber, which will soon be Audi. Bottas seems likely to fill the seat.

How will mid-season swaps Colapinto and Lawson perform?

A shock announcment came from Red Bull Racing after Singapore as it was announced that Liam Lawson would replace Daniel Ricciardo in the RB seat for the remainder of the season. After his brief run of good form last year, Lawson is under massive pressure to score good results if he is to sign a 2025 contract.

F1 newcomer Franco Colapinto has been Logan Sargeant's replacement at Williams since the Italian Grand Prix. Colapinto has managed to score his first F1 points and while his Williams seat will be occupied by Carlos Sainz next year, the young Argentine is still keen to impress.
