Fernando Alonso and Liam Lawson clashed on the track in Austin. The Spaniard was not happy with the New Zealander's action. On the radio at the time, he said Lawson was an "idiot". After the session, Alonso didn't back track on those words.

Liam Lawson has six races to prove himself. So in his first sprint race, he took the chance to show himself right away. He fiercely went into battle with Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard was clearly not pleased.

Alonso not happy with Lawson

Besides his comment on the team radio, Alonso went further on the incident to DAZN. "A bit of action, probably too much, but Liam has six races to prove a lot and it is probably not the best approach he is taking," the two-time world champion said critically.

The Spaniard was severely cut off by Lawson which eventually led to him also being overtaken by Esteban Ocon. "But hey, his career is at stake, not mine," concluded a heated Alonso.
