Despite high pressure, scrutiny and doubt over his future at Red Bull Racing, Sergio Perez expresses he still enjoys his job alongside Max Verstappen. The Mexican answered whether he feels undervalued by the Red Bull team.

Perez is contracted to drive at Red Bull Racing in 2025, but there is growing doubt about his future at the top team. Christian Horner has defended the 34-year-olds performances on numerous occasions, but prior to last week's United States Grand Prix, the Red Bull boss expressed the importance of having two strong drivers next season. Horner has also often acknowledged the talent waiting in the Red Bull wings, including Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar. He also publically named George Russell as a future possible candidate for Red Bull.

But Perez does not feel he is undervalued. He explained how he feels to Mexican outlet Esto. "No. In the end you are part of a team, of an organisation, and imagine you have been with the best team in the world for four years and your contract has just been extended for two years.... So I really enjoy my job and what I do. That's also why I'm still here."

How does Perez feel about the rumours

'Checo' then reiterated his earlier words that he has no intention of retiring this year. He understands the broader picture of being an F1 driver under pressure.

"When you have been in Formula 1 for so many years, you understand. There are many agendas, in Formula 1 you understand how journalism moves within the sport. I never say so much [in the media] so I don't get in trouble, but when they create this kind of news, that's the moment I have to say something. I'm not leaving, I'm not going anywhere, I have a contract and I know what it says. There is no doubt that I will appear at the start here again next year," Perez added.
