Norris relieved after grueling qualifying session in Brazil
Lando Norris secured pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix. It wasn't exactly easy for the Brit, who witnessed five red flags in the session. Norris was happy to be in pole position after such a tough qualifying session.
''Yes, there was a lot going on today but super super happy. I was struggling a lot at the beginning of qualifying and had a lot of work to do. I was not comfortable at all so to end up on pole, I worked at it a lot through qualifying, a lot of areas to improve on, A little surprised to be on pole here,'' Norris began after qualifying.
Norris was relieved to end up on pole in Sao Paulo:
''Very', Norris stated when asked how difficult it is to estimate the limit. ''Harder than it looks on TV at times. You always try to find that little bit extra, but you saw how many people are crashing and going off. It was easy to end up badly in the wall here, which means you might not even make it to the race later today. That risk-reward was not easy today. Especially from where I was in Q1, I found that difficult. So very happy."
Looking ahead to the race, Norris said: ''I have some quick guys behind me. George (Russell) put in a fast lap and Yuki's (Tsunoda) been flying in the rain today. It's never easy in these conditions. We'll see, we'll prepare well and be curious to see what we can do.'' Norris concluded.
