VCARB unveils glitter livery for Las Vegas GP

At 23:30 local time, a small group of media gathered in front of VCARB's garage, where the F1 car with special glitter livery was already waiting. Warmly wrapped because of the low temperatures, a number of VIPs were allowed to take photos with the car, before drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson came out in their special racing overalls. Team principal Laurent Mekies and CEO Peter Bayer also joined.

No special livery for Red Bull

Sister team Red Bull Racing also planned to drive with a special livery in Las Vegas. However, the idea was abandoned for the Singapore and the US GP, where Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez' team had initially planned to drive with a special livery as well. The decision was taken because the paint used would add too much extra weight to the RB20.

The special livery was instead used for a show run in Galway, where David Coulthard and Patrick Friesacher, in front of thousands of spectators, tore through the illuminated streets of the Irish city. The drivers did so in the RB7, the 2012 Red Bull car with which Sebastian Vettel won his third world title. Light blue was used instead of the usual dark blue livery.
