Andretti Cadillac has brought in another big name. Rob White joins the team in a week when the American team seem to be a step closer to a Formula 1 entry for the 2026 season.

Rob White has a lot of experiance in F1. He started at Cosworth in 1987, eventually working his way up to Chief F1 Engineer designer in the Jaguar era. In 2004, he moved to Renault at Viry, where he contributed to Fernando Alonso and Renault's world titles in 2005 and 2006.

Success story with Red Bull Racing

Under White's leadership, Renault also won world titles as an engine supplier in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Together with Red Bull Racing, Renault won four consecutive world titles with Sebastian Vettel. However, in June 2024, White, like many others at Renault, was sacked for disappointing results.

The former top executive at Renault has now moved to the Andretti Cadillac project. There, he will work as chief operating officer and will meet many old friends from his time at Renault, including Pat Symonds.

White's announcement comes in a week when Andretti Cadillac has edging ever closer to an entry into Formula 1. While the entry was initially rejected by the FOM, the project will be admitted to F1 in 2026 as the 11th team under the name Cadillac Racing. The team will use Ferrari engines in 2026 and 2027, followed by General Motors-designed engines in 2028.
