- Savannah Lenz
Visa Cash App RB has once again rebranded. This time, they have changed the RB to signify Racing Bulls. They also have a new factory in Milton Keynes. But before they made these moves, they had to get through the 2024 season. Team principal Laurent Mekies has since reflected on 2024, commenting on the season of Yuki Tsunoda.
"I don't think that in Formula One, any of us expect to turn up, change everything, and get results immediately. It doesn't work like that, unfortunately, but are we confident we got the right people in. Yes, 100% Are we confident we have the right basis to go and hit the target that we are being given."
Mekies reflects on the 2024 season.
One of the changes that VCARB has made besides their line-up is to their headquarters. Mekies said, "The infrastructure about the new headquarters in Milton Keynes that we are going to move in in two weeks into closing Bicester, so all these big roadblock road milestones that have been put in place and in the middle of that, we got a crazy year from a driver perspective as well with Yuki exploding in the good sense. I need to be careful with my words. Anyway, with Yuki making a huge step forward, that's what I wanted to say".
"Yuki making these incredible steps, plurality again." Mekies also made note of Daniel Ricciardo, who was replaced after the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. "Of course, we wanted the different results with Daniel. But the fact that he came back, the fact that we have seen him coming back, singing, reproducing, ultimate speed. And fine, we failed to have that ultimate speed consistently enough." He continued, "That's what it is. Hands up, responsibility, a good half on us because it's something that needs to happen together, whether or not you get to that sweet spot every weekend."
After the promotion of Liam Lawson, Isack Hadjar will be joining Yuki Tsunoda for the 2025 season.
