Ferrari did not have a walk in the park type of season in 2024. The Italians were forced to quickly discard their biggest upgrade package, and the FIA's delay in providing clarification with regards to the legality of the front wing's flexibility, also set them back in terms of development. However, the great strides they made in the short time frame they had left, gives Charles Leclerc plenty of reasons to praise the Italian team's execution.

Is Leclerc satisfied with Ferrari's performance in 2024?

"I'm very happy because I think the first part of the season wasn't easy. We were definitely not the fastest car. We were actually struggling for performance," stated the Monegasque to media present in Abu Dhabi's post race conference, including GPblog. However, the Prancing Horse managed to bring their season to a much better end.

"The second part of the season, we've done an incredible job, mostly for improving the car in terms of pace. We've picked up a lot of pace. We were a lot closer to the guys in front, and actually on some races we were probably the fastest car and this is thanks to the team in Maranello, thanks to Carlos, thanks to me and the team back at the track as well to have done such a great job with the new upgrades," added Leclerc.

Leclerc lauds Ferrari for its execution in 2024

"But I think the highlight of this season has definitely been the execution. Because to be fighting for the Constructors' at the end of the year until the very last race, if you look at the performance we've had in the first part of the year, and that's where I think we've done a particularly good job. So on that, I'm very proud," concluded the driver of the #16 Ferrari.

The start of the season is still a long way away, but, the Scuderia are working hard on their 2025 contender which is set to be a completely new project led by former Mercedes man, Loic Serra.
