Max Verstappen is taking part in the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend on behalf of Team Redline. Not on the track, but on the sim, as he often does. With his team, he was leading in the GTP class, but he lost this position after crashing his car on a wet track. You can read how that happened here.

Verstappen tried to dive past an opponent on the inside, but in the stretch to the corner he lost grip and skidded off the track in Daytona. The Red Bull driver also received two penalties in his stint, both for entering the pit lane unsafely, receiving two 40 second penalties on both occasions twice.

How it stands at Daytona for Team Redline

After ten hours of racing, Team Redline was leading the GTP class. Two hours later, the team had been overtaken and was thus in second place. At the start of the morning, after a total of 19 hours of racing, Verstappen's team was in fourth place in the standings.

At the time this article was written, Verstappen's team is still in fourth place. It is about eight laps behind the HP Esports team, the current leader. Diogo Pinto, Verstappen's teammate, is currently behind the wheel on behalf of Team Redline. The 24-hour race can be watched live via this link. The start was at 14:15 on Saturday, with about two hours and three-quarters of an hour left on the clock.
