Valtteri Bottas was ousted from Sauber, and has since taken on a third driver role at Mercedes with an aim to making an F1 comeback in 2026. While Cadillac remains a possibility for the Finn, he has not ruled out a move to Indycar either. However, a career change could very well be in the cards for him as well.

Having been discarded by Sauber, a dejected Bottas described his move to the Swiss team in 2022 as a mistake. Now a third driver for Mercedes, Bottas would like to make an F1 comeback in 2026. This could be achieved with Cadillac perhaps, with the American team set to make their F1 entry next year for the upcoming regulations overhaul.

While the Finn is interested in the possibility of an F1 comeback, he is also considering Indycar as a potential destination as he told The Ringer F1 podcast. “Maybe I’ll be racing in the US [in the future]. IndyCar is quite interesting. The tracks are nice and the racing seems really real. It’s been gaining popularity, at least in Europe, so let’s see.”

'Bottas is hilarious'

However, Bottas has a particular humour which has conquered the internet and gotten the Finn quite a few extra fans as well. His latest mockumentary style clips looking into his relationship with ‘body double’ Lachy Mac let Bottas’ humour brightly shine through. With F1 breaking through into the entertainment industry with the Brad Pitt starred movie set to be premiered in June 2025 and Daniel Ricciardo’s involvement as an executive producer in a F1 related tv show, a showbiz role for Bottas in the future should not be ruled it, if anything, because the Finn, as the consensus shows, is quite good at it.
