Lawson sees challenges as Red Bull driver: 'That will be the hardest'
Liam Lawson will make his official racing debut for Red Bull Racing in just under a month's time. He will do so at a circuit where he has no previous experience in Formula 1, Albert Park, much like the rest of the circuits in the opening stages of the upcoming season, something the New Zealander, therefore, expects to be challenging.
Lawson has only seen action in F1 following the summer break, which renders his experience at the tracks scheduled for the first half of the season as non existent. Of the races scheduled before the summer break, he's only ever driven in Japan, in 2023.
Lawson on challenges as a Red Bull driver
"I'm very excited about Melbourne, about the start of the season. There are a lot of cool circuits I haven't done yet that I think I will enjoy, like Melbourne. China seems like a cool circuit. Canada is also somewhere I've always wanted to drive," started Lawson.
"But I think the beginning of the year will also be the most difficult. By that I mean we go to a lot of circuits where I haven't driven before, starting the season, that will be very, very difficult. I've never really finished a season before, so I think the beginning of the year will be the hardest. But I would also dare to say that I am most excited to go to these new circuits," concluded the New Zealander.
