Arvid Lindblad is gearing up for a pivotal year in his racing career as he prepares to make his Formula 2 debut in 2025. The Red Bull Racing junior is widely regarded as a rising star, and many expect him to make the leap to Formula 1 soon. While he remains focused on his F2 campaign, speculation continues to grow about when he might get his first taste of F1 machinery.

Asked by GPblog about his plans and whether there will be opportunities to drive an FP1 session for Red Bull or Racing Bulls this year, Lindblad kept quiet: "With regards to FP1 and stuff, I'm not really sure. I'm not really too in the loop with all that sort of stuff. I'm very focused on just the F2 season ahead because that's what’s going to dictate my future."

Besides the pressure to perform in F2, Lindblad has already secured enough super licence points through his victory in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship. Still, this doesn't have much effect on his psyche. "I mean, if I'm being honest, it doesn't really take away any pressure. Obviously, it's good to have the super license. That's sort of a bonus, but it's never really been something I've thought about. For me, it's one of those things that if you perform in sort of your series, your category, it's something that just comes as a result of that.

"Then obviously, due to the sort of nature of how fast I've been pushed through the categories, I haven't actually been in that many championships to accumulate the points. I don't really think about it too much with the super license. I just see it now as a bonus. And obviously, it's good to just have that over with, sort of sorted," Lindblad explained.

Before the start of the new Formula 1 season, Arvid Lindblad had the opportunity to drive an earlier Racing Bulls car at the Imola circuit. He got behind the wheel of the AT04, the 2023 AlphaTauri car, gaining valuable experience in an F1 machine.

This wasn’t his first taste of Red Bull machinery, either. Lindblad also took part in a show run in Houston, driving the iconic 2012 RB8—the car that helped Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing secure both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships that season.
