Jos Verstappen critical of Drive to Survive: 'We don't like that'
F1 News

Last Friday, the new season of the popular Netflix Formula One series 'Drive to Survive' was released. In the past, Max Verstappen has sometimes been critical of the way the drivers are portrayed in the documentary series. Speaking to Radio Joe, Max's father Jos Verstappen also commented on the way the Netflix series works.
Drive to Survive was first released in 2019 to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at their favourite Formula 1 drivers and teams. Despite its documentary style, not everything is depicted exactly as it went down. In the most recent series, for instance, Max Verstappen seemed irritated after Lando Norris 's first win in Miami last year when, in reality, the Dutch driver was happy for his friend. As such, the footage of Verstappen's exasperated reaction came not from a moment after the Miami Grand Prix, but after the Dutch Grand Prix.
Verstappen himself also saw the clip and responded in a Team Redline live stream regarding whether he was upset after Miami. The Dutch driver then went on to say that on that Sunday night in Miami, he was actually enjoying himself, so he didn't really know what exactly he was portrayed to be upset about.
Jos Verstappen not a fan of Drive to Survive
Jos Verstappen is not a big fan of the series either. The former Formula One driver admitted that he does not watch Drive to Survive and was critical of the creative editing, "No, I don't watch it. That's also the thing they do with that series. It's good for Formula 1, absolutely, but what they do is that they use quotes under other images. We don't like that very much."
Jos Verstappen himself also featured in the last season of the series, where he was talking about the legal case surrounding Christian Horner. Footage was shown of Jos discussing with the Red Bull team boss, though he shared that he had not watched the footage himself.
