Hadjar had a 'classy moment' with Lewis Hamilton after crash

Isack Hadjar was comforted by Anthony Hamilton immediately after his crash in Australia. The attention from Hamilton senior, as well as from Lewis Hamilton himself, did Isack a lot of good after the tough start to his F1 career.

During the press conference in China, Isack Hadjar was asked about the moment between him and Lewis Hamilton's father. What had Anthony said and if Hadjar had also heard from his 'idol', Lewis Hamilton.

What Hamilton said to Hadjar

"He said it reminded him of Lewis, actually, parking the car at the pit entry in Shanghai. It was a nice moment sharing time with someone like Anthony, obviously the dad of my idol. It was quite a special moment and indeed Lewis sent me a message later that day. Really classy guys," Hadjar concluded.

Anthony Hamilton was thus referring to Lewis Hamilton's debut year in Formula 1. In 2007, Hamilton appeared to be on his way to a rookie world title until he got stuck in the gravel trap the pit entry. Not being able to score any points in China, the title went down to the wire in Brazil. There, Kimi Raikkonen eventually edged both McLaren drivers at the time, Fernando Alonso and Hamilton.

There was also much ado after the race about statements made by Helmut Marko. His statements about Hadjar were translated in English as embarrassing, something Marko certainly did not say and, given his smile and wink, certainly did not mean. Nevertheless, a question came from Sky Sports' David Croft during the press conference, where Hadjar defended the Austrian advisor.
