Kimi Antonelli wishes his hero and idol a happy birthday

Kimi Antonelli has honoured his great idol, Ayrton Senna, on his birthday. In his story, he posted a picture of Senna, with the words: ''Happy birthday Legend''. The three-time world champion would have turned 65 today.

Although Antonelli is only 18, and never actually saw Senna race, he has repeatedly stated that the Brazilian is his Formula One hero.

For many the greatest ever

Ayrton Senna is considered by many to be the greatest driver of all time. The Brazilian managed to clinch the world championship three times, in 1988, 1990 and 1991. His Imola crash at Tamburello at 2:17PM in the afternoon during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix proved to be fatal, and so both the life and the career of the Brazilian racing driver became extinguished.

Antonelli is not alone, as a Senna fan in the F1 grid, with Lewis Hamilton being a professed fan of the Brazilian driver, as are Fernando Alonso and Charles Leclerc as well. As of this season, with Gabriel Bortoleto, there is, for the first time since 2017, a Brazilian competing in Formula 1. The rookie sensation who's currently racing for Sauber sports a helmet inspired largely by Senna's helmet design.
