Marko reacts for the first time to Lawson's early elimination in China

For the third time in a row, Liam Lawson has been eliminated in Q1 or SQ1 in the 2025 season. This Saturday, he once again finishing in last position in qualifying. Red Bull top advisor Helmut Marko also reacted to the New Zealander's result after the session, and did not deny that the team might need to make a change again.

Marko cryptic about Lawson's future

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Marko explained that Red Bull will go through Lawson's data"He says he did not get the tyres up to temperature in time, but we have to analyse that carefully now," he answered about Max Verstappen's teammte.

Pressure is also building on Lawson as he once again failed to make it through to the second part of a qualifying session. The Austrian advisor stressed that Red Bull is in good shape in terms of the drivers at their disposal. Asked about whether a change has to made at the Milton Keynes-based side, he answered: "F1 is a competitive sport."

On the other hand, Marko was positive about Isack Hadjar. After a disappointing start to his career in Racing Bulls, the Frenchman finished in P7 in qualifying in China. "Hadjar's performance was very good. He doesn't know the track and drove flawlessly. That is a very positive surprise," Marko concluded.
