The stewards have shared their verdict on the pit lane incident between Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar, that took place during qualifying in Shanghai. They investigated an unsafe release from the garage, that forced Verstappen to steer towards the right. Here is the outcome!

Stewards' ruling on the Verstappen and Hadjar incident

The stewards have ruled that Racing Bulls will receive a €5,000 fine for the incident, and thus the Frenchman will not be penalised. Therefore, the young driver will remain in P7 on the starting grid for the Chinese Grand Prix.

The incident happened in Q3 at the Shanghai International Circuit. As Verstappen was driving in the fast lane, Racing Bulls released Hadjar from his garage, right in front of the Dutchman. Later on their out lap, Verstappen overtook him. Both reported to the stewards to share their side of the story.

Oliver Bearman also had to report to the stewards, as he was investigated for impeding Lance Stroll. The British rookie will not be given a penalty, as it was not intentional, and the Aston Martin driver also acknowledged that Bearman tried his best to get out of the way.
