Nicholas Latifi wants super licence to get into F1 "as soon as possible"
Nicholas Latifi wants to move into Formula 1 "as soon as possible". Latifi will replace Robert Kubica during the first practice session of the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Williams test driver is currently racing in Formula 2 and sits at the top of the championship by one point. He doesn't have enough points for his Super Licence at the moment, but a consistent performance in F2 will be enough to give him what he needs.
"First and foremost, I have to focus on Formula 2. I don't yet have my Super Licence that I need to race in F1. My goal has not changed, I want to be there as soon as possible," Latifi is quoted by GrandPrix.
As well as competing in Formula 2 at Paul Ricard, he will replace George Russell in the first practice session of the French Grand Prix.
