Todt reveals Michael Schumacher still watches F1 and provides update on condition
Jean Todt has revealed that Michael Schumacher still enjoys watching Formula 1 and is making progress as he continues to recover from his tragic skiing accident in 2013.
Schumacher was placed in a medically induced coma after suffering severe head injuries during a skiing accident in 2013. The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion has not been seen in public since and little is known about his condition as the family keep his recovery very private.
Todt worked with Schumacher throughout his career and is very close to the family and makes regular visits to see him. Todt gave a rare update on Schumacher's condition and revealed he still enjoys watching the races.
"I'm always careful with such statements, but it's true. I saw the race together with Michael Schumacher at his home in Switzerland," Todt told Radio Monte-Carlo.
"Michael is in the best hands and is well looked after in his house. He does not give up and keeps fighting.
"His family is fighting just as much and of course our friendship can not be the same as it once was. Just because there's no longer the same communication as before.
“He continues to fight. And his family is fighting the same way.”
