Rosberg does not understand Vettel's action: "He really is a mystery to me"
Sebastian Vettel is under fire after his spin early during the Italian Grand Prix. The four-time world champion is heavily criticized for his dangerous action after which saw him drive back onto the track into the path of Lance Stroll.
"Vettel is really a mystery to me. I really can't explain it. He is a four-time world champion and one of the best drivers in the field. And then he makes such a mistake, without outside influence. That is very strange," Rosberg told Sky Sports F1.
Meanwhile, the man from Monaco is on fire. Vettel has had to watch Leclerc win two back-to-back races without stepping onto the podium himself. Rosberg reviewed this moment.
“This must really be a dark moment for Vettel. His teammate has just become a Ferrari legend and has taken his number one status within the team," Rosberg continued.
Still, there is hope for the German according to Rosberg. “He has a lot of confidence, that will help him. And in Formula 1 you only need one good race and then you are all the way back. So we can't write it off already. He can come back very quickly," the 2016 world champion explains.
