Leclerc thankful for his strategy for Italian GP win
Italian Grand Prix winnter Charles Leclerc says that his team's decision to put him onto the hard tyres was the right one, as the challenge from Mercedes waned towards the end of the race as they struggled to keep their mediums alive.
Lewis Hamilton spoke about his tyres falling off the cliff after running in Leclerc's dirty air for much of the second stint, whilst the Monegasque was able to keep Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas behind whilst also setting a consistent pace.
The Monegasque said the decision of the team to put him on hards was definitely the right one: "I think the strategy was good. Obviously we were in a tricky situation because we had the two Mercedes behind and I was the only Ferrari and they could play the game of going long with one car and earlier with the other.
"It was very tricky but in the end I think we made the right choice with the hard."
