Di Montezemolo rules out FIA chairmanship: "Doesn't belong to my intentions"
- GPblog.com
Jean Todt has announced that he will no longer be president of the FIA after 2021. His successor is not yet known, but it is certain that he will not be succeeded by Luca di Montezemolo.
Last term
Jean Todt cannot be re-elected as president of the FIA in 2021 because he will not be admitted at the end of his last term of office due to the restrictions of Place de la Concorde.
Bernie Ecclestone has already announced that he sees a good successor to Todt in Luca di Montezemolo. Di Montezemolo himself is former president of Ferrari. However, Di Montezemolo himself has told FormulaPassion.it that he will not succeed Todt. "I read about the hypothesis. I exclude that the Presidency of the FIA could be one of my intentions or possibilities", he said.
Other candidates
Other names mentioned to succeed Todt are Graham Stoker, a leading lawyer in sports law, David Richards, the current president of motor sport in the United Kingdom, Alejandro Agag of Madrid and Mohammed bin Sulayem of Dubai.
