Albon: "We have the best chance if it's going to rain on Sunday"
For Alex Albon, qualifying didn't go as expected. The Thai Red Bull Racing driver was unable to control his car how he would have liked and finished qualifying thirteenth, after failing to get into Q3. Albon is hoping that there will be some changing conditions on Sunday to improve his chances of getting a good result.
Prior to the F1 weekend, Albon said he would prefer a dry weekend at the Hungaroring but when asked by GPBlog if this was still the case, he said that he had changed his mind.
"Yes, I would like it to rain this weekend! Hopefully, we get mixed conditions on Sunday," Albon said hoping for a wet track, which could also be to Max Verstappen's advantage.
Changing race more fun for everyone
The Dutchman only managed to reach seventh place and obviously a lot has to be done before progress is made on the track. Albon expects a wet race to be more fun for drivers and fans.
"It will be more fun for everyone if we have a changeable race with rain and dry periods," Albon explained.
Although the weather forecast for Sunday will be the same as today, Albon hopes that the weather will suddenly change.
"On paper, I think it will be the same conditions as today. Clearly, I would like to see it a lot wetter than how it was today. I think that will be the best way to win positions on Sunday," Albon concluded during the video call.
