Horner is hopeful: "Verstappen's runs looked very fast"

For Christian Horner, the 2020 season is going better than expected. With a win in Silverstone and a driver in second place in the drivers' championship, the Red Bull Racing team principal cannot complain. Horner is therefore looking forward to the Spanish Grand Prix, where warm temperatures are again expected, which could benefit the team.

"You can see that the speed of Mercedes is really better over a lap. It does look exciting. We can certainly get some hope from Max's longer runs, especially on the medium tire it looked very fast. It looks like it will be a warm weekend again," Horner looks back on Friday in Spain at Sky Sports.

Albon can reach the podium

The strategy will be exciting on Sunday and Horner indicates that no decisions have been made for Sunday. "We still have to calculate a lot, so we don't rule out anything yet. Of course we still have a session on Saturday so nothing is fixed yet". The strategy is extremely important and this was shown again last weekend during the second Grand Prix in Silverstone. I think not only the strategy department, but the whole team did well on Sunday. We don't have the fastest car and this team proves that you can still perform."

Alexander Albon again disappointed on Friday, but Horner is hopeful that the Thai will perform better. "It is mainly the Saturdays that he has to work on. Sundays are going really well. So it is mainly about making him more comfortable on Saturdays. The car is difficult to drive, but Max drives around those problems. Hopefully can we help Alex to gain confidence. If he achieves a good starting position, then a podium is certainly achievable," Horner concludes.
