Verstappen: "Tomorrow they'll turn up that engine and then they'll go again"

Max Verstappen started the weekend at Spa excellently with the fastest time during the second free practice session. It's cause for optimism for the Dutchman but the Red Bull driver is staying grounded.
"It was very close all day," he said in a conversation with Olav Mol for Ziggo Sport. "I think it's more like Mercedes that doesn't have the optimal balance yet. Tomorrow they'll open that engine and then they'll go again."
Verstappen hopes for rain, but not too much
According to Verstappen, Mercedes is still the favorite for pole. Hamilton, on the other hand, claimed that Red Bull Racing seems to be a bit faster this weekend. In that case, Verstappen would have to hope for a dry race.
"Here at Spa you never know. I used to live here at home when the weather was nice and you went go-karting and when you drove to Spa it suddenly rained. It's very hard to say here. I do hope it rains a bit, but of course I always find it exciting."
