Ralf Schumacher wouldn't be too surprised if Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi both leave Alfa Romeo Racing after the last Grand Prix of the year in Abu Dhabi. Nico Hulkenberg and Mick Schumacher are two candidates to fill the vacancies at the Italian race team.

"Everyone knows about the close cooperation between Ferrari and Alfa Romeo, it would make sense to place a newcomer there", said Schumacher to Sky. The German hopes that by 2020 there will already be someone who gets a chance in the first free practice session on Friday morning. The candidates are Ferrari-juniors Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman.

Schumacher wants to see new talent in F1

he former Formula 1 driver sees that the Frederic Vasseur team has had a difficult season to date. "For Alfa Romeo things are not going so well at the moment to say the least. You don't lose much if you let a young driver participate on a Friday," he explains why he thinks new talent should be given the chance as soon as possible.

Schumacher predicts that two Germans may come riding for Alfa Romeo in 2021. "I also think they are looking for two new drivers, an experienced man and a promising driver. Maybe negotiations are already underway with Hulkenberg," he says, then goes on to say that Schumacher Jr. also makes a good chance.
