Verstappen na winst Gasly: "Obviously he's doing fine there"
- GPblog.com
The former teammate of Max Verstappen took the highest steps of the stage in Monza. Pierre Gasly was able to take full advantage of malaise among the top teams and took gold in an AlphaTauri. Verstappen is asked for his opinion about the brand new GP winner.
Gasly does just fine
After the summer break of 2019 we didn't see Gasly back at Red Bull Racing. Six months turned out to be enough for Christian Horner and his team to have enough proof that Gasly couldn't make it to the level. Alexander Albon came in his place. Strangely enough Gasly has since won second place and first place, while Albon is still waiting for his first podium.
During the online Red Bull press moment Max Verstappen is asked about Gasly's performance he left Red Bull: "There [at AlphaTauri, ed.] of course he is doing just fine", Verstappen replies.
Gasly's performance is difficult to assess
The Dutchman continues: "It is actually difficult to compare how good that really is. At least it did not look wrong".
After the race Gasly received a lot of congratulations. Also from outside the paddock. Verstappen was certainly not one to miss out on congratulating the Frenchman: "I congratulated him on the track before I left".
