Albon: "No room for error, everyone touches the gravel"
Over the past few weeks, Alexander Albon has been widely criticised for not being able to keep up with the pace of Max Verstappen. During the free practice sessions at Mugello he showed that he is in a reasonable position this weekend and he is positive ahead of the weekend.
"There are still some areas to find a bit more balance in the car," Albon tells Sky Sports. "But I’m reasonably happy coming from Monza where we struggled a bit. This is a more conventional circuit, so fingers crossed everything is back to normal."
Mugello super fast, but tyres are doing surprisingly well
"It is really quick. Not much room for error either. You see it with Lando, everyone is touching the gravel and you feel it moving around on you. So it’s a tricky circuit, especially because it’s so high energy. From turn 1 tot turn 15, the car is completely different."
Mugello has a reputation for being very tough physically and for the tyres, but according to Albon that's not so bad. He does say that the neck gets a good workout, but the tyres held up surprisingly well.
