A repeat of Silverstone?
With high temperatures in Tuscany and a circuit that is ruthless to Pirelli's tyres, it could be a Sunday where a Mercedes driver doesn't touch the top step of the podium. At Silverstone, the Mercedes car was beatable in similar conditions.
Nevertheless, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will start from the front, followed by Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon. With the best qualifying result for the British Thai to date in Formula 1, Red Bull Racing will be able to battle the Mercedes with two drivers.
Reason for a party?
Although Ferrari had a party last night in Florence, there's not much for the team to celebrate at the moment. Charles Leclerc was able to get a surprising fifth place on the grid during qualifying, but the driver fears he won't be able to hold that position for long.
In the meantime, Sebastian Vettel will have to start from 14th place, in a weekend where he will be in the spotlight. Earlier this week it was announced that he will be driving for Racing Point next season, but first, he'll have to work hard for Ferrari. Finishing in the points at Mugello is no easy task for the once-mighty team.
