Mercedes praises Verstappen: "Gets more out of the car than is possible"

Mercedes have their seventh world championship in their pocket and were hardly threatened this year. The only one who manages to get around every week is Max Verstappen and that causes admiration from Toto Wolff.
In 2020, Verstappen will be the only driver to join Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton. The rest of the field, including Verstappen's teammate, has mostly been ahead and 'the three' decide who wins. Usually, this is a Mercedes driver, but Verstappen is always lurking.
Verstappen the big rival
''We're always worried because this season was probably our strongest and never before was the difference so big, but Max is doing great. There were seldom more than three cars at the front of the field. He's probably performing better than what the car is actually capable of," says the team boss of Mercedes to Motorsport.com.
According to Wolff, the image of every Grand Prix is, therefore, the same every weekend. ''It's a déjà vu every weekend when you see those three 'amigos' at the front and Max hanging on the tail of the Mercedes. That's why next season Honda will be full for her last season and everyone at Red Bull will be motivated to the bone, Max not in the least," concludes the Austrian.
