RB16B compared to the RB16: There are a few minor changes to note
Red Bull Racing have presented the new RB16B. An upgrade of its predecessor from 2020, but how much can actually be seen in the new photos. We put the RB16 and RB16B next to each other.
In 2021, Red Bull Racing will be pushing to beat Mercedes, who have already won the titles in the past seven years. With the rules that remain fairly the same, this is a difficult task for Red Bull Racing, but the RB16 did win the last race of the Formula 1 season in Abu Dhabi in 2020.
What can the RB16B do?
If you see the two photos RB16 and the RB16B from the side view, then of course the floor stands out. Compared to 2020, there is a huge difference, as the regulations have prescribed. The part with the bargeboards has also been slightly changed, as is the case for the rear suspension. The diffuser will also be simpler, but no photo is available yet.
The front view also does not give much away about the new car of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen. The nose appears to have been designed slightly differently, but the narrow structure has been maintained. In the back, it is striking that the rear wing is a lot narrower, as was prescribed by the FIA. Not much new to see yet on the RB16B.
Here's a direct comparison of the old vs. the new Red Bull. Can you spot all the differences?
