Latifi and Schumacher cause trouble in the rain at Imola
- GPblog.com
A rainy Imola has caused chaos at the start of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. On the first lap some drivers found out how little grip there is. Latifi went off the track twice in one and a half corners and Mick Schumacher also crashed when he tried to warm up his tyres.
Two hard crashes
Latifi spun out at the Acqua Mineral. After returning to the track, he then didn't see Nikita Mazepin coming and was thrown into the wall by the Russian as a result.
This brought out the safety car, but it was still not safe. Mick Schumacher tried to warm up his tires a bit too wildly on the straight, lost control and crashed head-on into the wall. Miraculously, he was able to move on.
