The Singapore Grand Prix will not take place this season and so Liberty Media will have to look for a replacement. The leadership of Formula 1 will have several options, such as a race in Turkey, China or a second race in the United States. The race in Singapore was originally scheduled to take place at the Marina Bay Street Circuit from 1 to 3 October, but the coronavirus pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works, and it will no longer take place.
This is not the first time that Turkey is rumoured to host a Formula One weekend in 2021. Earlier
Istanbul Park was supposed to replace the
Canadian Grand Prix, but because the United Kingdom issued a code red for Turkey at that time, travelling was not possible.
China is normally always on the F1 calendar, but prior to the season that race was cancelled due to the coronavirus situation. It is possible that China will host
Formula 1 again in October 2021.
