Will Red Bull protest against Mercedes? "The FIA is working on it"
- GPblog.com
There are rumours in the paddock at Paul Ricard that Red Bull Racing are considering protesting or at least asking for clarification about Mercedes' front wing. The part of the W12 seems to move and that is actually something that is not allowed.
When confronted by Sky Sports Germany about the rumours, Wolff replied. "Maybe something is going to happen. We would be fine with the front wing moving less, mind you," the Austrian replies a little sharply. With that, Wolff suggests that it's not that much of a time advantage at all at the moment.
Protest from Red Bull?
In the same medium, Helmut Marko also has his say on the front wing that has been the topic of conversation for several weeks. "The FIA is working on it. There is enough visual material. We expect it to be similar to the rear wing," the Red Bull Racing advisor was referring to the introduction of additional tests. For the moving rear wing of the RB16B those stricter tests were introduced this weekend in France.
So it's quite possible that Mercedes will have to make adjustments, just as Red Bull did. Marko doesn't want to get ahead of ourselves though: "We're waiting to see what the FIA will say."
