Marko thanks Perez in particular: "If he wasn't so open-minded..."

Helmut Marko is ecstatic after Max Verstappen took victory in France, the place where Mercedes proved to be the master in recent years. The man from Graz is very happy with Red Bull's work on Sunday afternoon. Marko is also particularly grateful to Sergio Perez.
"We worked relatively early in this direction by leaving Perez out longer. So without Perez, if he wasn't so open-minded, we wouldn't have been able to do the whole thing," Marko complimented his Mexican driver, who also eventually managed to finish third by outsmarting Valtteri Bottas towards the end of the race.
Bit of Pain for Marko
At ServusTV, Red Bull's advisor has to admit it was a bit of a nail-biting experience after all."We thought we'd catch Hamilton with three laps to go, so it was a bit nerve-wracking when it got so close. But strategy, pit stop and of course Max doing it perfectly - then it all adds up", the Austrian smiled.
Max Verstappen took his third win of the season. Earlier he proved to be the strongest at Imola and Monaco. After seven Grands Prix, Verstappen has 131 points compared to the 119 points of defending champion Lewis Hamilton.
